Support for Developing Countries

Purpose

  • Transfer experiences and know-how in HRD that the Corporation has accumulated in the process of industrialization in
    activecooperation with the government for international development cooperation programs; and transfer the HR
    development models of Korea (including vocational training and certification models) to developing countries

Types of Program Operations

  • Dispatch experts in vocational training and certification
  • Invitation trainings for vocational instructors, managers and policy-makers
  • Support equipment and materials for training
  • Architectural design and construction consulting

Types of Funds

  • Economic Development Cooperation Fund:
    The government of Korea provides developing countries with long-term loans with the low interests for economic
    cooperation
  • Asia Development Bank Funds :
    Large-scaled long-term loans with the low interests provided by Asia Development Bank to developing countries for HR
    development of the countries

Achievements of International HRD Consignment Program

  • Aim
    - In Part of ODA(Official Development Assistance) of Korean Government, HRDKorea transmit Korean HRD system to
      developing countries.
  • Promotor
    - KOICA (Korea International Cooperation Agency) : grant aid and technical cooperation programs
    - KOEXIM BANK (Korea Export-Import Bank): Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) through which concessional
      loans for development projects were provided to the governments of developing countries
  • Programs
    - Invitation training for vocational training instructors and managers
    - Consulting services based on the feasibility study (F/S) considering the analysis on the labor markets of recipient
      countries
    - Dispatch of Experts(vocational training, qualification testing, labor market analysis and other fields for improving national
      HRD system and policy)
  • Training Venue
    - HRDKorea established SIVAT(Seoul Institute for Vocational training in Advanced Technology)in Incheon in 1989
      for international training centers.
